Abstract
⺠We investigate three garlic sulfur compounds (GSCs) on endotoxin-injected rats. ⺠All GSCs reversed endotoxin-induced intestinal damage and neutrophil infiltration. ⺠Differential effects present among GSCs on serum and tissue inflammatory indicators. ⺠The GSCs with more sulfur atom number showed to have less protective effect. ⺠Possible cytotoxicity of certain GSCs on the gut epithelium warrants further study.
