Abstract
⺠Mangiferin is a natural xanthone C-glucoside with pharmacological properties. ⺠Its antioxidant properties are fundamental to some of its biological properties. ⺠Glucuronidation, but no sulphation took place in rat liver fractions. ⺠Glucuronidation most likely occurred at C-6, and to a lesser extent, at C-7. ⺠Glucuronidation eliminated the on-line antioxidant activity of mangiferin.
