Abstract
⺠Mushroom β-glucan was investigated for subchronic toxicity and mutagenicity. ⺠In the subchronic study, no adverse effects of mushroom β-glucan were noted at 2000 mg/kg/day. ⺠In mutagenicity studies, no genotoxic effects of mushroom β-glucan were noted. ⺠The no-observed-adverse-effect level (NOAEL) for mushroom β-glucan was 2000 mg/kg/day.
