► Phosphatidylarsenocholine was synthesized by the transphosphatidylation reaction with phospholipase D. ► Following oral administration of phosphatidylarsenocholine to mice, arsenic was mainly excreted in urine. ► The major urinary metabolite was arsenobetaine.
