Abstract
► In vitro antimutagenic activity of the extract of Phellinus rimosus was evaluated. ► The activity was evaluated by Ames' test. ► Extract was effective against direct acting mutagens and mutagen needing activation. ► The effect was partially ascribed to the antioxidant activity. ► Results indicate the possible antitumor mechanisms of P. rimosus.
