Abstract
⺠We use rat during developmental d-galactose exposure to induce hearing loss. ⺠We examine effect of β-carotene on hearing loss in newborn rats. ⺠d-Galactose induces hair cell apoptosis mediated by activation of caspase-3. ⺠β-Carotene prevents hearing loss and exhibits anti-apoptoic property.
