Abstract
► Inoculated Brucella DNA in three dairy products was extracted with commercial kits. ► Differences were evident in extraction performance across cheese and milk types. ► Qiagen and High Pure kits surpassed others at a level of 104 CFU/g in cheese. ► Qiagen and High Pure kits surpassed others in milk products at 105 CFU/mL. ► Top performing High Pure and Qiagen kits were also the least expensive per sample.
