Abstract
⺠Salmonella enterica serovar Saintpaul from imported seafood and clinical samples were characterized by DNA fingerprinting and plasmid profiling. ⺠PFGE profiles with XbaI digested DNA from majority of food and clinical strains generated two clusters which grouped food isolates in one and the clinical isolates in other group. ⺠Majority of food and clinical strains of Salmonella Saintpaul strains have similar virulence profiles. ⺠All S. Saintpaul strains are sensitive to most common antibiotics. ⺠A range of large and small plasmids were present in S. Saintpaul strains
