► Real-time PCR assays quantifying type B trichothecene genotypes in Fusarium ► 378 field grain samples of wheat, barley, triticale, rye and oat studied ► PCA analysis reveals clear dominance of 15ADON genotype of F. graminearum in wheat. ► Historical samples indicate a shift in Fusarium species composition around year 2000.
