Abstract
►Food might be a source for community-acquired Clostridium difficile infections. ►Clostridium difficile was isolated from 8 (1.6%) of 500 samples of meat. ►Clostridium difficile was isolated from lamb and chicken meat. ►Clostridium difficile strains from meat differed from those of patients with CDI.
