Abstract
⺠Ib-AMP1 is an antimicrobial agent produced by seeds of Impatiens balsamina. ⺠Ib-AMP1 exhibits bactericidal activity against foodborne pathogens. ⺠Ib-AMP1 at 4à MIC showed less than 50% inhibition of proliferation of human liver, small intestine, and colon cells. ⺠Ib-AMP1 activity is influenced by binding to bacterial cells or components in the extracellular environment.
