Abstract
► Patulin is analyzed in apple juice by micellar electrokinetic chromatography (MEKC). ► Dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction (DLLME) is used for sample treatment. ► The method is free from matrix effects, so external standard calibration is used. ► DLLME with MEKC is an environmentally friendly alternative. ► LOD is low enough for detection of patulin below the maximum EU allowance.
