► Illnesses in Malaysia (18-59 yr) due to consumption of cooked shrimps/yr was 123. ► 90% of illness due to consumption of cooked shrimps among 49-197 cases/year. ► Illness/100000/yr (18-59 yr) is 1.3 while 90% distribution lies between 0.5 and 2. ► Hazard caused by Vibrio. parahaemolyticus is not severe or life threatening.
