Abstract
► The ability of different treated waste cider yeast to remove patulin was studied. ► The highest patulin removal was obtained by caustic treated waste yeast. ► The experimental data conformed well with the Langmuir model and the Freundlich equation. ► Ca-alginate gel was a good biosorbent for patulin biosorption. ► Immobilizing caustic treated yeast in Ca-alginate increased biosorption capacity.
