Abstract
► The developed WVTR global model accounting for temperature and relative humidity fitted well (R2>0.914) experimental data. ► Packaged Granola moisture uptake was found to be significantly affected by both storage time and packaging film. ► BOPP packaging film was found to be the best water barrier, followed by the biodegradable film N913. ► The shelf-life for Granola under accelerated conditions ranged from 2 to 13 days depending on the packaging film. ► QbD and integrative mathematical modelling allows simulation and design of packaging, making validation easier and cheaper.
