Abstract
► Bacteriocin production of L. plantarum KLDS1.0391 in co-culture with certain LAB was increased. ► Enhancement of bacteriocin production in co-culture was associated with cell numbers. ► Living inducing strains might be necessary for enhancement of bacteriocin production. ► plnD and luxS genes of L. plantarum KLDS1.0391 were successfully amplified by PCR. ► plNC8HK gene of L. plantarum KLDS1.0391 was successfully amplified by SON-PCR.
