Abstract
⺠We analysed yam flour for aflatoxin and fumonisin. ⺠Aflatoxin and fumonisin was detected in yam flour at low concentration. ⺠There was co-occurrence of aflatoxin and fumonisin in yam flour. ⺠Aflatoxin level was reduced during the processing of yam flour to yam flour paste “amala”. ⺠Ochratoxin A, zearalenone and deoxynivalenol were not found in the limited samples analysed.
