Abstract
► We investigated the presence of Aflatoxin M1 in Urfa Cheese samples from Turkey. ► We found that 36 (28.3%) of 127 samples were contaminated with AFM1. ► Of the contaminated cheese samples, 13 (10.2%) were found to have levels that exceeded the legal limits of 250 ng/kg established by the Turkish Food Codex. ► We concluded that white-brined Urfa cheese was a potential risk for customers, particularly for infant health.
