Abstract
⺠Phytoalexins, glyceollins, accumulate in soybean seeds as defense mechanism. ⺠Biotic and abiotic elicitors induce the synthesis and accumulation of glyceollins. ⺠Glyceollins possess antiestrogenic, anticancer and antioxidant activities. ⺠Glyceolins also regulate glucose metabolism and inflammatory signaling pathways. ⺠Soybean phytoalexins have prospects in health promotion and other food applications.
