Abstract
⺠The protective effects of ellagic acid in mitochondria were studied. ⺠Cardiotoxicy was evidenced by changes in lipid peroxidation and antioxidant enzymes. ⺠Ellagic acid pretreatment decreased lipid peroxidation and reduced mitochondrial damage. ⺠Transmission electron microscopic study proved the effect of ellagic acid. ⺠In vitro studies explained the mechanism of action of ellagic acid.
