Abstract
⺠A protocol for the extraction of intact Palmaria palmata proteins has been developed. ⺠Critical parameters associated with extraction of the alkaline soluble protein were determined. ⺠Application of specific polysaccharidases is an effective method for disruption of macroalgal cells. ⺠The conditions utilised in this study may be applicable with other macroalgal species.
