Abstract
► Edible film coating from rice starch, coconut oil and tea extract was coated on tomatoes. ► The film was homogenous as revealed by SEM. ► The ripening of tomatoes was controlled by the coating. ► Weight loss, pH changes, titratable acidity, ascorbic acid, TSS and reducing sugars were reduced. ► The antioxidant rich coating showed good microbe-barrier property.
