Abstract
⺠Melatonin was detected for the first time in prominent amounts in pomegranate wines. ⺠Melatonin was not detected in pomegranate juices. ⺠A significant role of the cultivar used for wine elaboration on melatonin content was noted. ⺠Fermentation step had a marked influence on the melatonin formation.
