Abstract
- Food reward was measured by ratings of desire to eat a portion of a tasted food.
- We defined liking as pleasantness of the taste of food, not pleasantness of eating.
- Liking for recently uneaten foods changed little with hunger/fullness.
- Hunger and liking were found to contribute largely independently to food reward.
- Desire to eat ratings better predicted food intake than did a work-for-food measure.
