Martwicze zapalenie jelit zwiÄ zane z przetoczeniem krwi (TANEC) u noworodka ze skrajnie maÅ‚Ä urodzeniowÄ masÄ ciała (ELBW) - opis przypadku

Necrotizing entrocolitis (NEC) is a severe neonatal disease leading to gastrointestinal injury. Prematurity is the most important single risk factor of NEC, but other mechanisms such as ischemia and reperfusion, excessive, enteral feeding, gut colonization and immunological barrier dysfunction are recognized as potential risk factors. Retrospective studies suggested an association between recent exposure to red blood cell transfusion and development of NEC in premature (TANEC, transfusion associated NEC). The aetiology of TANEC is multi-factorial. The incidence of TANEC varies from 25-35% of NEC. Here we report a case of ELBW boy, who suffered from necrotizing enterocolitis after packed red blood cell transfusion.
