چکیده انگلیسی
2010. Man is at the crossroads between sport, disability and technology. The inconceivable becomes possible. Current progress in state of the art prosthetics is such that those who benefit from it are able to rival the sporting elite. Are we witnessing the advent of a new era in which equipment will lead to developments in performance beyond natural limits? Or is it simply the translation of the principle that all humans are born equal by law? At this turning point in the history of physical performance, we look to identify the possibilities for amputated patients to fit into sporting competitions, before turning to the meaning that competing with their non-disabled counterparts has for them. At the heart of this article is Oscar Pistorius, a man who paves the way for all amputee athletes. We take this symbolic personality as a basis for development relating to the possibility of incorporating physical disability into high-level sports.
