A systematic review of staff training interventions to reduce the behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia

► This review evaluates the effectiveness of 20 studies on staff training for BPSD. ► There is evidence that training can reduce BPSD and improve staff behaviour. ► No links were found between theoretical orientation of training and outcome. ► Methodological weaknesses indicate that high quality RCTs are urgently needed.
