The role of Deinococcus radiodurans RecFOR proteins in homologous recombination

► We generated recF, recO and recR disruptants and characterized disruption effects. ► The RecF, RecO and RecR play an important role in cell growth. ► RecR may be involved in the incoming DNA stability during transformation. ► RecF plays a critical role for RecA activation to initiate the DNA repair process.
