Solubilization of inclusion body proteins using n-propanol and its refolding into bioactive form

► Inclusion body proteins can be solubilized using 6 M n-propanol solution along with 2 M urea. ► Solubilization using n-propanol results in improved recovery of bioactive human growth hormone. ► Propanol promotes non-denaturing solubilization of inclusion body proteins. ► Propanol based solubilization buffer is milder than 8 M urea or 6 M guanidine hydrochloride.
