Early detection and visualization of human adenovirus serotype 5-viral vectors carrying foot-and-mouth disease virus or luciferase transgenes in cell lines and bovine tissues

► We studied events after inoculation of recombinant adenoviruses (Ad5) in cattle. ► Ad5 and transgene products were detected at all time-points examined. ► Ad5 and transgene were found at the local lymph nodes and systemically distributed. ► Cells containing transgenic product were presumably macrophages and dendritic cells.
