چکیده انگلیسی
⺠Focus on the Hispanic- and African-American population, an ethnic minority disproportionately affected by T2D and obesity and under-represented in genetic studies of common, complex disease. ⺠This study utilizes high quality metabolic phenotypes, e.g. insulin sensitivity (SI), acute insulin response (AIR), disposition index (DI), fasting glucose, body mass index (BMI), visceral adipose tissue (VAT), subcutaneous adipose tissue (SAT), and waist circumference. ⺠Evaluation of quantitative measures of glucose homeostasis, SI, AIR and DI, contributes to the understanding of the physiological architecture of T2D and obesity. ⺠The lack of consistent patterns of association between variants, adiponectin levels, glucose homeostasis, and adiposity phenotypes suggests a reassessment of the influence of adiponectin in these pathways.
