Lésions articulaires multiples d'ostéochondrose chez un chien Berger allemand

A three and a half-month-old male German shepherd dog was presented with an osteochondritis dissecan of the lateral condyle of the right femur. Curettage of the lesion and joint flush were performed. At six months of age, the dog presented again bilateral osteochondritis of both shoulders: surgical treatment was performed on the first one (osteochondritis dissecans with symptoms) and management of the other shoulder was medical (osteochondritis without symptoms). Osteochondritis lesions can involve several different joints in the same dog and growth should be regularly controlled. Early surgical treatment (arthrotomy or arthroscopy) is recommended to limit progression of osteoarthritis.
