Éducation thérapeutique et schizophrénie : quelles méthodes ?

L’absence ou le peu d’adhésion des patients schizophrènes à leur traitement serait de l’ordre de 53 % : insuffisance de compréhension de la prescription, iatrogénie, défaut d’insight expliquent cette mauvaise observance, à l’origine de rechutes et de souffrance pour le patient. L’éducation thérapeutique revêt une importance particulière car elle constitue un déterminant de l’adhésion du patient schizophrène aux principes thérapeutiques. Encore faut-il qu’elle repose sur une stratégie adaptée, facilitant la communication et l’échange des savoirs avec des patients atteints de troubles cognitifs sévères. L’implication du pharmacien d’officine, si elle est évidemment souhaitable et profitable au patient, reste de mise en œuvre difficile.

It must however be based on an adapted strategy, facilitating communication and the exchange of knowledge with these patients who suffer from serious cognitive disorders. The involvement of the dispensing pharmacist, while obviously preferable and beneficial for the patient, remains difficult to put in place.
