Aunque esencialmente encomiástico, el artículo describe también la situación, bastante menos satisfactoria, de pacientes con trastornos mentales graves, epilepsia y parálisis confinados en jaulas, con un simple lecho de paja sobre el suelo como única cama y un desagüe para recoger sus deyecciones.
