Les accidents vasculaires cérébraux ischémiques jonctionnels : aspects TDM et IRM

Junctional ischemic cerebral strokes occur at the border between two arterial territories. These strokes result from reduced blood flow causing brain injury in circumscribed regions particularly vulnerable to hypoperfusion. Such lesions must be recognized to enable adapted treatment. Supra-tentorial lesions are superficial or deep, in relation with the site of stroke. Infra-tentorial lesions occur between the territories of the posteroinferior and superior cerebellous arteries. CT-scan, and more and more so MRI can be used to map these lesions.
