Artrodesis tibiotalocalcánea con placa anatómica autobloqueante de húmero proximal: Reporte de caso

The first tibiotalocalcaneal arthrodesis was described by Lexer in 1906. This method continues to be effective for patients with severe arthritis of the ankle and hind foot with poor alignment. It usually originates from post-traumatic arthritis. The use of the proximal humeral self-locking compression plate (LCP) offers a more rigid and compact system to perform this procedure. Furthermore, the multidirectional screw system provides stronger fixation, with fusion rates of 94.4%. The case is presented of a patient with severe tibiotalocalcaneal arthrosis managed with a proximal humeral LCP, with good results so far, as well as a detailed description of the surgical technique performed.
