BackgroundWe described the first documented endovascular treatment of vertebro-inferoposterior cerebellar artery dissecting aneurysm by a Neuroform stent and vertebral artery occlusion.Case descriptionA 45-year-old man suddenly experienced loss of consciousness. Computed tomography (CT) demonstrated subarachnoid hemorrhage. Angiography revealed a vertebral artery dissecting aneurysm at the take-off of posterior inferior cerebellar artery. The patient was treated with transarterial embolization using. a Neuroform stent deployed in PICA across the dissecting aneurysm. Successful coiling of the aneurysm and the vertebral artery was performed with a microcatheter positioned through the structs within the stent.ConclusionThis procedure may provide the neurointerventionist another option for dissecting aneurysms arising at the take-off of PICA. This technique has not been described previously and the presence of subarachnoid hemorrhage should not preclude treatment with cerebrovascular stent implantation if necessary.
