The combined effect of ultraviolet B radiation and temperature increase on phytoplankton dynamics and cell cycle using pulse shape recording flow cytometry

► High UVB induced low phytoplankton abundances followed by high values at the end. ► High temperatures generated earlier phytoplankton development and higher abundances. ► Most of the abundance values could be explained by the cell cycles. ► Combined treatment evidenced a shift towards an herbivorous food web.
