Occupational exposure to pesticides and Parkinson's disease: A systematic review and meta-analysis of cohort studies

► Cohort studies on occupational exposure to pesticides and PD were meta-analyzed. ► Increased risk appears when combining all studies but with heterogeneity. ► Subgroup analyses show increased risk for incidence studies and prospective cohorts. ► The highest risk is observed when PD diagnosis was confirmed by a neurologist. ► Results support the hypothesis that exposure to pesticide increases the risk of PD.
