Venlafaxine or a second SSRI: Switching after treatment failure with an SSRI among depressed inpatients: A retrospective analysis

► In this study we compare two switching strategies for MDD patients not responding to initial SSRI treatment. ► Venlafaxine or a second SSRI are compared. ► The study is a naturalistic setting analysis. ► We find that venlafaxine may be advantageous in older patients with physical co-morbidity.
