Spatio-temporal clustering of American Cutaneous Leishmaniasis in a rural municipality of Venezuela

► We studied incidence of ACL from 1992 to 2007 in an endemic municipality of Venezuela. ► Spatiotemporal dynamic was analyzed with space-time permutation scan statistic and GIS. ► ACL had a periodic trend and there were five spatiotemporal clusters across this region. ► Three transmission patterns were identified along the study area. ► There was evidence of transmission spreading from the northeast to other areas.
