Isolation, molecular characterization, and phylogenetic analysis of porcine encephalomyocarditis virus strain HB10 in China

► One porcine encephalomyocarditis virus (EMCV, named HB10) was isolated from samples of dead piglets presented acuate myocarditis. ► The EMCV strain was confirmed by the production of specific CPE, HI test, PCR, EM and sequencing. ► Phylogenetic analyses of the capsid coding region and the VP3/VP1 genes using the neighbour-joining was performed. ► The Hb10 isolate showed the epidemic EMCV in China with myocarditis which caused reproductive failure, and death in piglets.
