Intraindividual variability of C-reactive protein: The Multi-Ethnic Study of Atherosclerosis

▸ We examined the intraindividual variability of C-reactive protein (CRP) over time. ▸ Intraclass correlation coefficients were calculated for CRP and non-HDL-cholesterol. ▸ Fluctuation between tertiles and clinical categories was also assessed. ▸ Our analysis controlled for covariates that can exaggerate CRP variability. ▸ We report significantly greater variability for CRP than for non-HDL-cholesterol.
