High selective antileishmanial activity of vanadium complex with stilbene derivative

- Vanadium complex (VOSalophen) was synthesized and characterized.
- VOSalophen showed a strong effect against L. amazonensis.
- Leishmanicidal effect can be associated to mitochondrial dysfunction.
- Leishmanicidal effect can be related to immumodulatory effects.
