Segmental Sedimentation and Counting Technique (SSCT): An adaptable method for qualitative diagnosis of Echinococcus multilocularis in fox intestines

► SCT is the gold standard for the diagnosis of Echinococcus multilocularis on foxes. ► It is a very time-consuming technique since all intestinal content must be examined. ► E. multilocularis worm distribution was analysed for the five segments of intestines. ► SSCT was determined by examination of fourth and first or second segments. ► SSCT gave high sensibility and is very time-effective for qualitative diagnosis.
