Dissection of antioxidant activity of durum wheat (Triticum durum Desf.) grains as evaluated by the new LOX/RNO method

► The new LOX/RNO method reveals high antioxidant activity of wheat grain extracts. ► The method discriminates among samples and correlates with antioxidant content. ► The method suggests a very strong synergism among phenols, higher than ORAC. ► TEAC assay is unable to correlate with antioxidant content and to suggest synergism.
