Underwriter reputation and the underwriter-investor relationship in IPO markets

► We examine the investor-underwriter relationship based on underwriter reputation. ► Institutional investors have strong relationship with high reputation underwriter. ► High net worth investors have strong relationship with low reputation underwriters. ► We find setting of offer price is significantly influenced by underwriter reputation.
