The influence of Zn/Zr ratio on the crystallization, microstructure, and properties of MgO-Al2O3-SiO2 (MAS) glass-ceramics was investigated. The sintering and crystallizing kinetics suggested that Zn/Zr ratio of 5/3 was beneficial to the sintering process and the crystallization. XRD indicated that the increase of Zn/Zr ratio changed the crystal phases and promoted the crystallinity. It was found that the coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) was strongly dependent on the crystal phases. The mechanical properties were markedly improved by the increase of bulk density, crystallinity, and microstress. MAS glass-ceramics with Zn/Zr ratio of 5/3 sintered at low temperature of 900â¯Â°C shows good properties: εrâ¯=â¯5.7, tanδâ¯=â¯0.32â¯Ãâ¯10â3, Ïâ¯=â¯279â¯MPa, Ïâ¯=â¯96â¯GPa, αâ¯=â¯3.46â¯Ãâ¯10â6/°C, which is compatible with silicon chips.
