Identification and classification of conopeptides using profile Hidden Markov Models

► We built 62 pHMMs for all described conopeptide superfamilies and families. ► For classification of the signal and propeptides the accuracy of pHMMs was 100%. ► For classification of the mature peptides the accuracy of pHMMs was 96%. ► Our set of pHMMs allows automatic classification of conopeptides from large datasets.
