Resveratrol activates the histone H2B ubiquitin ligase, RNF20, in MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells

► Resveratrol up-regulates RNF20 in MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cell line. ► Induction of RNF20 is accompanied by an increase in active histone marks. ► RNF20 is involved in p21 regulation in MDA-MB-231. ► RNF20 induction correlates with cell growth suppression by resveratrol. ► RNF20 knockdown attenuates the effects of resveratrol on cell cycle progression.
